Business Enterprise Fund

Start or grow your small business

Business Enterprise Fund(opens in new tab) is a long-term client in the financial services sector. We recently partnered again to modernise their website. After launching their original Craft CMS site a few years ago, the team approached us to refresh their digital presence and better support their business goals.

The project focused on building a faster, more flexible site that gives the Business Enterprise Fund team full control, improves user experience, and helps increase loan applications.

What wasn’t working

Before starting the redesign, we worked closely with the team to understand their pain points. While they appreciated the simplicity of their original site, several issues were limiting its effectiveness:

  • The site used an outdated version of Craft CMS, which posed security and performance concerns
  • Pages felt overwhelming, with long blocks of content and little structure
  • Calls to action were unclear, making it harder for users to know what to do next
  • The visual design and typography no longer reflected their evolving brand
  • Internal teams struggled to update or create content without developer support

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with the team behind Made By Bramble for over six years. In that time, they have delivered multiple upgrade projects and two completely new websites for us. Each one has been built with care, creativity, and a genuine understanding of our needs.”

Our approach

A flexible page builder

We developed a custom page builder inside Craft CMS, with 28 reusable sections that can be mixed and matched to create new pages. The team can now manage layouts and content directly without needing help from a developer.

Built on Craft CMS 5

We upgraded the site to Craft CMS 5 to give the team access to new features, a better editing experience, and improved security.

A refreshed visual identity

We worked with Business Enterprise Fund to evolve their brand visually, introducing a more modern typeface and refining the overall look and feel. We shared visual moodboards early in the process to ensure alignment with their tone and audience.

Focused user experience

We made a number of design decisions to improve usability and support loan conversions:

  • Simple, clean forms to reduce friction and guide users through the process
  • Hero sections that introduce key content clearly and calmly
  • Use of real photography to add warmth and credibility
  • Clear, readable typography with plenty of breathing space
  • Visual CTA blocks that break up content and highlight next steps

Smarter content structure

We restructured the backend to make content easier to manage and expand:

  • Defined content types for loans, blog posts, guides, client stories, and testimonials
  • Integrated Formie forms styled to match the new design
  • Support for file uploads and embedded application forms directly on loan pages

“Every site is intuitive to use, simple to manage behind the scenes, and excellent value for money. What really sets them apart is their user-focused approach and proactive mindset. They do not just deliver a service. They become a trusted partner. A joy to work with from start to finish.”

Results snapshot

In the six months following launch, the site showed measurable improvements:

  • 18.9% increase in average engagement time per user
  • 29.3% increase in engagement time per session
  • 29.7% increase in total page views
  • 75.8% increase in views of the enquiry page, supporting a key conversion goal

Conclusion

The new Business Enterprise Fund website delivers a better experience for both users and the internal team. It supports their brand and business goals more effectively, while giving them the tools to manage content with confidence.

Thanks to our existing relationship and understanding of their workflows, we were able to deliver a site that is both practical and high-performing. It provides a strong foundation for continued growth and ongoing improvements.
